The Worth Of Knowing

Because new life is breathed into us

Because growth is abiding

all we have to boast in is Christ.

People praise God for the good, beautiful things we do because we let people close enough to see that it couldn’t come from us but the light in us.

And we learn to accept encouragement and praise from our brothers and sisters even though we know it’s underserved because we realize they are seeing us as God sees us.

Christ in us.

“So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now! This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” 2 Corinthians 5:16-17 NLT

And when people are offended by our change because our stagnation was more comfortable to them than our growth, we show mercy because the growth is not really ours to claim.

Because we too would be scared of change if God had not woken us up.

It’s not coming from us.

We pour the costly perfume of our lives on the Lord’s feet. We wash them with our tears regardless of whether we are praised or scorned by others in the room.

Because doing it for the Lord and because of the Lord.

Because He has breathed new life into us.
