“You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.”
Psalms 139:5 NLT
Wounds that require stitches or sutures must be treated within 24 hours. Previous personal experience reminded me of this and a quick google search confirmed it so now you’re informed.
But what if a doctor wasn’t confined by time?
And what if instead of changing the past this Doctor shows us how He was there with us feeling our pain, protecting us from further injury, and applying ointment to begin a work deep within us?
What if He is in our future, but instead of removing memories and signs of pain and injury He is reworking them into something that can be used for good? What if instead of promising no lingering signs of previous wounds He promises to infuse them with beauty?

What if this Doctor is here, placing His hand on your head blessing you not with a life without sickness, but a life with His presence? And also promises eternity with both no sickness and His presence. Because He’s not here just to do His job, but to be in relationship with you. He loves you that deeply.
What if He says, “I saw it all. I never leave any part of you out of my sight”?
What if He says, “I kept you safe from anything unnecessary for your longterm health”?
What if He says, “I had you secure in my arms the whole time. You can rest here. I’m not letting you go.”
What if He says, “I was your comfort. When you were willing to let my love in I was more than ready to embrace you in my love. Be comforted now, seeing your past and future with me in it.”
These thoughts leave me with questions unanswered, but an undeniable longing for it to be true.
The God Who at this very moment holds all of me and all my days in His hands also had His Son die because I needed a heart transplant and only His would work. And then, miracle of miracles, He is alive again meaning now there is hope for redemption for every trace of death and sin left on my life. The redemption can even begin now as I see each part of my life with Jesus actively present in it.
Jesus’ presence is the healing.
Baffling.
“Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand!”
Psalms 139:6 NLT
